Hi! welcome to my blog. This is my first time for posting my own cooking.
I sometimes do cook for my family ,I especially do easy cooking that does not take too much time to prepare. There are a veriety of food that I had prepared ,not only Thai food. For example, sushi roll,kimchi soup and spaghetti pork ball etc.
Today,I am going to start my first cooking blog with one of my favourite traditional Thai food called "Nam Prik Ka Pi" Actually you can buy Nam Prik Ka Pi from every fresh market because of it delicious tastes which is prefered by Thai people.But not every time you bought you would get the paste that pleased you. So,if you have a pot of Ka Pi paste in your kitchen, don't be hesitate to prepare it yourself.
Let's start!!
Relish Ingredients
2 tablespoon of Shrimp Paste
2-3 cloves of galic
2-3 of red chillies
6-8 of mini green eggplants
2 tablespoons of lime juice
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of fish source
5 of prik kee nu
Serve with
Cucumbers(fresh) cut into bitt-sized
Green-Purple apple Eggplants(fresh)
*you can choose your favourite
vegetble as relish accompanied
like, cabbage(steamed),cauliflower
(steamed),long bean(fresh or stemed)
Prepartions
1.Add chillies, garlic in a stone mortar and mash it throughly.
2.Add shrimp paste,pound till mixed well.
3.Add lime juice,fish source,brown sugar.
4.Add some warm water.
5.Seasoning the surface of the paste with mini green eggplants and prik kee nu.
6.Serve with steamed rice and fried pla tu(Thai Mackerels).
Nutritions from this meal
Not only the good taste, Nam Prik Ka Pi also give you nutritions that unbelievable keep you avoid from health diseases. In one cup of paste, it gives you 1,554 milligram of calcium from the small sized shrimp or in Thai we called "Koei" that is enough for you body on 1 day.
Garlic also contains with vitamin B1,B2 and Vitamin C. Moreover, garlic also included with allin and allicin that may prevent you from cancer too.
Prik kee nu, not only give you the spicy taste but it contains with many good nutritions for you health ;such as, carotene and capsaicin that prevent you from running nose and good for you blood circulation system.
This is the reason why Thai people in the past stay in their good health even they don't have many supplements like us.
